I found this Android App today DSLR Contoller https://play.google.com/store/apps/d…dslrcontroller it enables you to connect certain Canon cameras and get various levels of control over them…….as most of my gear is getting on then I was limited as to what worked as I only have one DSLR with Liveview it only costs afew pounds and all you need is a OTG cable for the nexus and a USB cable to connect to the camera.
My S70 compact ……….Nothing…………to old
My 5D…………………….Nothing ………..to old and no liveview
My EOS-M ………………Nothing………… (seems disabled by Canon)
My 40D………………….Worked a treat and the list of cameras seem to be after that date probably as this is the oldest I have that can use Liveview .
There is a list of cameras it can control on the website and the images are transferred to the nexus for review after shooting.
Supported Canon EOS models:
– Full support: 1D mk IV, 5D mk II, 5D mk III, 50D, 550D, 6D, 60D, 600D, 650D, 7D, 70D, 700D, 750D, 1100D
– Limited support: 1D mk III, 1Ds mk III, 30D, 40D, 400D, 450D, 1000D
– No support: older models
Before commiting to the software there is a free app you can try to see if your camera will work with it plus if you do by the app you can return it within 15 minutes for a full refund.
Remote release free app https://play.google.com/store/apps/d….remoterelease
Here are a couple of OTG (On The Go) cables that worked for me
