set the EC at +1/2 to up to +2 stops as the onboard camera metering will attempt to expose as mid grey.

 

Histogram and Highlight alert

Most if not all DSLR’s will have this viewed on the lcd display to check for overexposure on the highlights see your manual for rear screen view modes.
